Ramayana is an ancient Hindu epic poem that tells the story of lord Rama, the seventh avatar of the god Vishnu, and his search for his wife Sita according to Hindu mythology.
Sonakshi Sinha attended the Kaun Banega Crorepati episode, where she wasn’t able to answer the simple common sense question, “According to Ramayana, Hanuman grabbed the Sanjeevni herb for whom?” She was given 4 options Rama, Lakshmana, Sugriva, or Sita.
The Shaktimaan star actor criticized Sonakshi for failing to answer a simple common sense question about Lord Hanuman on the KBS quiz show, relating it to the lack of cultural upbringing. Sonakshi firmly asked Mukesh Khanna to avoid involving her father in such matters.

In response to Mukesh Khanna’s criticizing remarks, Sonakshi Sinha expressed her disappointment on her Instagram story. She wrote, “Mukesh Khannaji, I recently came across your statement where you blamed my father for my inability to answer a question related to the Ramayana. This incident happened years ago on a show where two women were on the hot seat, both of whom couldn’t answer the same question. However, you chose to single me out, and the reason for that seems quite evident.”
Addressing the Ramayana question matter further, Sonakshi also admitted that she couldn’t answer the question but expressed her frustration over the unnecessary criticism directed at her father. She said, “Yes, I couldn’t answer the question at that moment, and I felt blank, which happens to everyone. But haven’t you forgotten the values of forgiveness and letting go that Lord Ram himself taught us? If Lord Ram could forgive Manthara, Kaikeyi, and Ravana, surely you can move on from this small mistake of mine.”

Sonakshi Sinha countered Mukesh Khanna’s remarks, saying, “Stop dragging the same incident repeatedly to keep me and my family in the news. Before you question my upbringing, remember that it is because of these very values that I am speaking to you with such respect.”

In a recent interview, Mukesh Khanna commented, “Today’s generation needs strong figures to guide them. Shatrughan Sinha’s bungalow is named Love Kush, yet Sonakshi doesn’t know about Ramayana. It’s not Sonakshi’s fault; it’s her father’s. Why didn’t he impart that knowledge to his children?”
